Earth Seeds Therapy Forest School

Helping children connect, and thrive through nature, mindfulness, and play.

Our woodland and yurt space (The Roost) provides a nurturing environment where children can connect with nature, build confidence, and develop essential life skills through play and exploration. Alongside sessions at The Roost, we can also bring the Forest School experience directly to schools, creating opportunities for outdoor learning and regulation within familiar surroundings. Rooted in the Forest School ethos, our sessions are child-led, sensory-rich, and designed to support emotional wellbeing and regulation.

Children thrive when they are free to explore, imagine, and learn through hands-on experiences in the natural world.

Why Forest School Works in Schools

Forest School is a long-term approach to outdoor learning that helps children build confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing through regular experiences in nature. Each session follows a consistent rhythm, allowing pupils to grow at their own pace while developing curiosity, problem-solving skills, and a sense of connection with the natural world.

The ethos is learner-led; children are given time, space, and choice to explore, create, and take appropriate risks within a safe and supported environment. Sessions are guided by qualified practitioners who observe, adapt, and nurture individual development over time.

For schools, Forest School offers a meaningful way to extend learning beyond the classroom. It provides opportunities for children to apply their knowledge in real-world contexts, build resilience, and develop essential life skills such as teamwork, communication, and emotional regulation.

Alongside our group Forest School programmes, we also offer therapeutic nature sessions led by our qualified Forest School Leader. These sessions are designed to support children with additional needs — particularly those with SEND, social and emotional difficulties, or who find it hard to engage in traditional classroom settings.

Sessions take place in small groups or on a 1:1 basis, offering a calm, relational space where children can connect with nature at their own pace. Using mindfulness, sensory exploration, and nature-based play, we help pupils build confidence, emotional regulation, and a sense of safety in the natural world.

Each session is therapeutic in approach, combining the Forest School ethos with gentle, trauma-aware practice. Activities are developed alongside an Occupational Therapist to promote regulation, coordination, and wellbeing - helping children transfer these skills into daily life and learning.

These sessions can be commissioned directly by schools or used to complement existing SEND and wellbeing provision, providing measurable impact on participation, engagement, and emotional growth.
